TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Jeremy Johnson will start at quarterback for Auburn in Saturday's Iron Bowl, coach Gus Malzahn announced before kickoff.
It will be Johnson's second start in two weeks - and just his second start of the season.
He's making the start over injured Sean White, who started the first 10 games. White has been dealing with an injured shoulder for a month.
His assignment comes against the top-ranked defense in the Southeastern Conference in the 2:30 p.m. game on CBS. John Franklin III may also see action in a backup role.
"Whoever it is - Sean, Jeremy or John - we all have faith in them," running back Kerryon Johnson said earlier in the week. "We just have to let it play out and see what happens."
Johnson is 18 of 25 passing for 185 yards and a touchdown this season. He was 14 of 19 passing for 147 yards and a touchdown in his start, and 55-0 win, over Alabama A&M last weekend. Johnson started nine games last season.
White is 129 of 198 passing for 1,644 yards and nine touchdowns.
