AUBURN, Ala. -- Dylan Ingram hit a 3-run home run to help Auburn baseball rally from an early five-run deficit, but the Tigers fell to Lipscomb 8-7 in 10 innings Sunday at Plainsman Park.

"I just think they were the toughest team," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. "That's what I just told the ball club. Ten walks and five of them score, you're just not going to beat the game, much less Lipscomb or any other quality ball club that we have to play. That was one of those deals where I thought we were timid. We start talking about attacking, and we just didn't attack down the stretch. We didn't shove the ball in the strike zone. That's what we built the program for and we didn't do that today."

Ingram's blast capped a six-run fourth inning that gave Auburn (9-3) at 7-6 lead, but the Bisons struck for a run in both the ninth and tenth innings to steal the win.

Lipscomb (7-4) chased Auburn starter Davis Daniel after just two outs in the second inning with five earned. The Bisons scored two in the first and tacked on three in the third to end the freshman's day.

Auburn's Corey Herndon turned in a solid outing in relief with 3.2 innings pitched and three strikeouts. He allowed one run on three hits.

Calvin Coker (1.2 IP, 2 K) and Ryan Watson (1.1 IP, 2 K) both had strong, scoreless appearances out of the bullpen for the Tigers.

Jonah Todd recorded a sac fly in the fourth for Auburn to extend his streak to eight straight games with a RBI. Daniel Robert was 2-for-5 with two-run double to extend his reached base streak to 27 straight dating back to 2016.

Ingram finished the day 2-for-3. Bowen McGuffin had a pair of hits and Luke Jarvis had one RBI.

Daniel Sprinkle (0-3) took the loss after getting only two outs in the 10th and walking four.

Zeke Dodson reached base six times for Lipscomb. Kyle Kemp got the win out of the bullpen with three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He improved to 1-1.

Auburn hosts South Alabama Tuesday at 3 pm and Kennesaw State Wednesday at 3 pm.
