AUBURN, Ala. – A handful of Auburn equestrian members have found success on the hunt seat side of competition this summer.
 
Sophomore Taylor St. Jacques was a big winner at the Fairfield County Hunt Club Grand Prix. The SEC Freshman Rider of the Year for both Fences and Flat captured the win in the $30,000 Grand Prix title in Westport, Conn., June 19-23, and also finished fourth on her second mount.
 
Incoming freshman McKayla Langmeier has been busy this summer before coming to the Plains. She finished third in the $75,000 Grand Prix at Lake Placid (July 1), while winning five equitation classes over the two weeks and finishing fifth in the Kathy Scholl Equitation Championship. She also earned top ribbons in junior hunters and junior jumpers.
 
Soon-to-be classmate Emma Kurtz has been a top ribbon winner in the junior hunters, equitation, and junior jumpers throughout the summer. In addition, she was champion in the Junior Jumpers at Country Heir (June 6-17) in Lexington, Ky. Kurtz also took home the win in the Brandywine Cup Equitation Classic at the Brandywine Horse Show in Devon, Pa.
 
Sophomore Ericka Koscinski also had a solid showing at both the Fairfield County Hunt Club and Lake Placid. The Center Moriches, N.Y., product won the Adult Jumpers title at Fairfield before earning Reserve Champion in the same category and second in the Classic at Lake Placid.
 
In addition, junior Lillian Wagner was the champion in Adult Jumpers at HITS Saugerties, while senior Hayley Iannotti was 12th in the Welcome and fourth in the Derby in Tryon, N.C.
