ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – Auburn (7-9-2, 4-6-0 SEC) opens postseason play against Alabama (9-6-3, 4-4-2 SEC) in the first round of the SEC Tournament Sunday. Kickoff at the Orange Beach Sportsplex is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.

The contest between the 10th-seeded Tigers and seventh-seeded Crimson Tide will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network and is also available on the Watch ESPN app.

Starting XI

Auburn advances to the SEC Tournament for 24th time, including 19th straight, which marks the second longest active streak in the league.

The Tigers are 13-20-5 all-time in the SEC Tournament, including 11-15-4 under head coach Karen Hoppa and 9-13-4 in Orange Beach.

Sunday will mark the third time Auburn and Alabama have met at the SEC Tournament and the first time since 1995.  The teams are 1-1-0 in SEC Tournament matchups.

Auburn has entered the tournament as the No. 10 seed on one other occasion in 2013 and went 1-1-0 with a win against LSU and a loss against Texas A&M.

The Tigers are 8-10-5 all-time in SEC Tournament openers and are looking to advance in the tournament for the first time since 2016. 

Auburn turned in its record seventh straight win against Alabama last Sunday, defeating the Crimson Tide 3-2 in double overtime.

Freshman Sydney Richards scored the game-winner in the 108th minute of last weekend's contest, marking her fourth goal of the season and second game-winner.

The Tigers have earned a result in 17 of the last 19 meetings against the Crimson Tide, including a win in 12 of the last 13.

The Tigers have allowed just three goals and have outscored the opponent 17-3 in games they have won this season.

Scouting Alabama

Alabama enters the SEC Tournament with a 9-6-3 overall record and 4-4-2 mark in conference play.

The Crimson Tide earned a result in six straight league matches before dropping the final two contests of the season.

Alabama ranks third in the league in goals (34) and fourth in both assists (31) and points (99). Eighteen different players have registered at least one point this season.

On the other end, the Crimson Tide have allowed 23 goals this season, including five in the last two contests, and have held conference opponents scoreless just once.
