AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 16 Auburn men's golf team is set to annual Tiger Invitational, March 15-17, at the par-72, 2,289-yard Grand National Lake Course.
"We talked to a lot of our players to about what they need to do to get ready," head coach Nick Clinard said. "They know how important it is to have a tournament here in the Auburn/Opelika area and to protect our home turf."
The annual tournament is once again presented by Jason Dufner.
"Jason Dufner is a great ambassador for our program and the university," Clinard added. "To have him involved and care about our players and what Corey (Maggard) and I do on a daily basis to make the program better means the world to us. We really appreciate his support, but most importantly, his friendship."
The Tigers are set to field a lineup of J.M. Butler, C.J. Easley, Graysen Huff, Andrew Kozan and Alex Vogelsong. Competing as individuals will be Austin Coggin, Hal Dove, Jake Milanowski and Wells Padgett.
Auburn is joined in arguably its toughest field assembled at the yearly event as there will be 11 teams from the Southeastern Conference.
Including the No. 16 Tigers, 11 of the 15 teams are ranked inside the top 50 of the Golfstat rankings: No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 13 Georgia, No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 20 Tennessee, No. 21 Arkansas, No. 23 Arkansas State, No. 24 LSU, No. 34 Alabama, No. 37 UAB and No. 42 Georgia Southern.
Auburn won last season's Tiger Invitational - the last tournament of the 2019-20 season - by 11 strokes and finished at 10-under.
The Tigers are paired with Alabama and Georgia for the first and second rounds Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT off the No. 1-4 holes. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
Fans are allowed to attend the event, but are asked to follow Southeastern Conference guidelines and remain socially distant from those competing.
