CLEMSON, S.C.– The Auburn track and field team claimed four wins at the Tiger Paw Invite at the Clemson Indoor Facility over the weekend, while in Boston, distance runner Presley Weems broke a 19-year-old school mark in the women's 800m run.

Junior high jumper Dontavious Hill continued his outstanding indoor season clearing a personal-best 2.21m/7-3 to win gold. Hill equaled his previous personal best of 2.13m in the season opener, followed by consecutive 2.19m clearances at the Carolina Challenge and Texas Tech Open and Multis at the end of January.

"It was a high-level meet this weekend and what we needed heading into SECs in two weeks. I feel good about the consistency of our national-level kids," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "DT had another personal best which was huge and Madi Malone threw a great series. She's throwing very well. Kyle Brown is continuing to do extremely well."

On Saturday, Hill cleared his opening four marks without a miss before a clean pass at 2.21m. The Mobile, Ala., native came up short on three attempts at 2.24m. Hill's new PR is good for No. 6 nationally.

The Tigers swept the weight throw invite as Malone won with a toss of 22.72m/74-6.65, while on the men's side, Brown finished first with a mark of 21.59m/70-10.

Freshman Cooper Atkins won his first collegiate race, claiming the men's mile in 4:07.33, outdistancing Pittsburgh's Finn Walsh by 46 one-hundredths of a second.

At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational over the weekend, Weems ran 2:04.05 to break her second consecutive school record in as many weeks after setting the school mark last week in the mile. Weems finished seventh overall and first amongst all collegiate competitors. She clocked the sixth fastest 800m time in the NCAA this year.

Senior Joyce Kimeli also ran an impressive race in the women's 5000m, posting a time of 15:43.83 to finish eighth overall. Like teammate Weems, Kimeli was only bested by professionals and finished atop the collegiate standings. Kimeli's time stands as third-fastest in Auburn history.

"Presley and Joyce ran well in Boston as Presley set the school record in the 800 and Joyce ran a strong national mark in the 5000," Spry said. "We had a lot of personal bests, which was good. Overall, it was a really good weekend."

The Tigers will have an off week before traveling to the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 25-26, in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
