AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior Megan Schofill has been named to the 2022-23 Preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List, the Haskins Foundation announced Thursday.
The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is given annually to the most outstanding female collegiate golfer. This marks the third consecutive year that Schofill has been named to the preseason watch list.
"The ANNIKA Award Watch List is the who's who of collegiate golf and the best amateurs in the world. Megan is very deserving to be named to this list," Auburn Women's Golf Head Coach Melissa Luellen said. "I am confident that Megan will do everything in her power to put herself in a position to win the Annika Award after this season. Megan is a leader on our team in so many more ways than just posting a good score. I am proud of her accomplishments but even more proud of the fine person she is."
Schofill, a Monticello, Florida native, was named a Third Team All-American by Golfweek, an Honorable Mention All-American by the WGCA and was a Second Team All-SEC selection this past season. She has participated in the Arnold Palmer cup twice (2020, 2021) and in the Augusta National Women's Amateur three times (2020,2021,2022).
Last season, Schofill set Auburn's 54-hole SEC Championship record at nine-under par and finished as individual runner-up. She was Auburn's top finisher in four events, including the SEC Championship and the NCAA Championship. She totaled fourteen rounds under par in 2021-22, which is tied for second all-time in program history. Schofill boasts eight top 10 individual finishes, including two career individuals wins. In 25 career tournament appearances, she has a scoring average of 72.31.
Schofill and the rest of the Auburn Women's Golf team will kick off the 2022-23 campaign on September 12-14 at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
