AUBURN, Ala. – Fifth year Derrian Gobourne will conclude her illustrious Auburn gymnastics career on Thursday as she is set to represent the Tigers at the 2023 NCAA Championships, April 13, in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Sarasota, Florida product will compete on floor in the night session in Dickies Arena. She'll rotate with Utah and will perform in the first rotation starting at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
"I'm excited to show who I am," Gobourne said. "I'm ready for this one last push and I'm ready to leave this program better than I found it."
"It's a great, full circle to her career," head coach Jeff Graba added.
The individual showing won't be the first for Gobourne. As a freshman in 2019, Gobourne traveled solo and won a share of the national vault title. With her win, she became Auburn's first national champion in the sport.
"I won't have my girls with me but I'm excited to show what I can do." Gobourne said.
Gobourne competed on floor in all but one meet this season, earning All-America recognition with a 9.94 National Qualifying Score. In addition, she secured All-SEC honors in the event and was named the SEC Specialist of the Year for the third consecutive year.
