AUBURN, Ala. – Wrapping up its five-game road swing, No. 17 Auburn (13-6) takes on in-state foe South Alabama (12-8) Tuesday in Montgomery, Alabama. First pitch at Riverwalk Stadium is set for 6 p.m. CT.

"This is a club that was receiving votes in the top 25 a couple of weeks ago," head coach Butch Thompson said. "They had a slower weekend like us, so we're both licking our wounds walking into Montgomery and are both very, very interested in getting after it and finding the win column.
 
"Historically it's been a great matchup," Thompson added. "We've played a bunch of games against these guys and always get their best."

 SCOUTING THE JAGUARS 
South Alabama enters the week with a 12-8 overall record after getting swept by Georgia State last weekend.
 
The Jaguars are 3-1 in midweek games, most recently defeating Mississippi State 6-5 in Biloxi last week.
 
Offensively, South Alabama is hitting .251 as a team and is led by freshman Ethan Melton's .333 average. Lucas Ismaili leads the way from a run production standpoint with four homers and 18 RBI.
 
On the mound, the team has turned in a 5.36 ERA with 179 strikeouts and 116 walks in 178.0 innings pitched.
