EUGENE, Oregon—Auburn sophomore Megan Hague finished 12th in the women's shot put and fellow sophomore Michael May finished 16th in the decathlon to lead the Tigers during the second day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field Thursday.

Making her first appearance at outdoor nationals, Hague posted a huge PR on her second of three throws with a mark of 16.97m/55-8.25, to earn second team All-America accolades. Her lifetime best was exceeded her previous PR by almost six inches, while catapulting her into No. 3 all-time at Auburn in the event. Her showing was the best by a Tiger in the event since Valentina Muzaric was 11th in 2016.

Another newbie at NCAAs, May tallied 7375 points over the two-day, 10 event competition, finishing just shy of his personal best of 7559 achieved last month when he was the SEC Outdoor bronze medalist. May earned second team All-America honors while posting two PRs during the meet.
