AUBURN, Ala. – Landing a fourth Power 5 transfer and adding depth to the Tiger outfield for the 2025 season, co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux announced the signing of Georgia Lessmann on Monday.
An outfielder from Enterprise, Alabama, Lessmann spent her freshman season at the University of Iowa.
“Georgia represents the type of player and person that we want to bring into our program,” Chris Malveaux said. “She is a worker and a competitor, but also comes from an amazing family background and has strong family ties to Auburn. She brings diversity to the lineup with her speed game. We are excited to have her join us this year!”
Lessmann did not see any action with the Hawkeyes last season but did earn a spot on the fall Dean’s List.
“We are so excited that Georgia Lessmann is joining the Auburn softball family,” Kate Malveaux added. “She brings a dynamic element to our roster with speed and fierce tenacity to compete. We love that she will wear the navy and orange while representing her home state.”
Lessmann was a two-time offensive player of the year at Enterprise High School. She earned all-state honorable mention honors during her prep career. She helped her team to the 2022 area championship and two region Super 12 berths.
Athletic success runs within the Lessmann family. Her father Corey played baseball at Briar-Cliff University. Her brother Jackson played baseball at Enterprise Community College. Her older sister Olivia played softball at University of Dayton and was a graduate assistant for Auburn softball during the 2023 season.
