AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn soccer and head coach Karen Hoppa unveiled the team’s schedule for the 2024 season Monday. The slate consists of 18 regular season matches and a pair of exhibitions, including 12 matches on home turf.
“This is a really exciting schedule for us,” Hoppa said. “We’ve got a lot of opportunities to play in front of a home crowd. Not only do we have the quantity, but we’ve also got some really high-quality opponents coming to town, so we’re excited to challenge this group, led by our 13 seniors, to rise to the occasion and really show what Auburn soccer is all about.”
The Tigers kickstart the season in style, welcoming a Clemson side that is fresh off an NCAA Final Four appearance to the Auburn Soccer Complex for a 6:30 p.m. CT clash on Thursday, Aug. 15.
Auburn’s senior class will be celebrated as a part of Senior Weekend, set for Aug. 22 and Aug. 25 with a pair of matches versus Southern Miss and Coastal Carolina. Next, the Tigers hit the road and head to South Alabama (Aug. 29) before returning home to welcome App State (Sept. 1).
Another in-state duel is next on the docket as Auburn heads to Samford (Sept. 5), then rounds out its nonconference schedule hosting Ohio State (Sept. 8) and Old Dominion (Sept. 13).
Southeastern Conference action begins Thursday, Sept. 19 with Vanderbilt making the trip to The Plains for a 6:30 p.m. showdown. Next, Auburn hosts Florida (Sept. 22), visits Texas A&M (Sept. 26), hosts Ole Miss (Sept. 29) and heads to LSU (Oct. 4)
Thursday, Oct. 10 marks the Iron Bowl of Soccer. Alabama ventures into town with a 6 p.m. CT kickoff set to determine the holder of the rivalry trophy.
Auburn winds down the regular season with a pair of road matches at Tennessee (Oct. 13) and Kentucky (Oct. 18). The final home game of the season is a matchup with the reigning SEC Tournament Champions, Georgia, set for Thursday, Oct. 24. Finally, the Tigers head to South Carolina (Oct. 27) to round out the regular season.
Postseason play begins with the 2024 SEC Tournament Nov. 3-10 at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida. The NCAA Tournament first through fourth rounds will be held on campus sites Nov. 17-29. The sport’s top four squads will converge on Cary, North Carolina for the 2024 College Cup set for Dec. 6-8 at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Last season, Auburn’s upcoming opposition combined for over 200 wins, averaging 11 per team. All but two squads posted winning records, and 10 made the NCAA Tournament. Seven of the 10 advanced past the first round. Three teams — Memphis, Old Dominion, and Georgia — won their conference’s respective tournament.
