AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men’s tennis is set to begin its fall season along with fellow Southeastern Conference schools at the SEC Challenge in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The event is scheduled to be played Friday through Sunday.
Eight SEC schools will take part in the tournament: Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and host school Alabama. The tournament will be played in a compass style with three doubles matches and three singles matches for each athlete over the weekend.
Two draws of eight doubles teams and one draw of four doubles teams will be played in a round robin format. After a doubles match has been played, the players will then split and battle each other in two singles matches. Whichever school wins at least two of the three matches played will advance while the losing team will move to consolation matches.
Each player will compete in one doubles match and one singles match each day. Billy Blaydes, Nicholas Heng, Jake Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy, Will Nolan and Joey Phillips will be participating in the event for the Tigers.
Action from the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility will begin at 10 a.m. CT on Friday and 9 a.m. CT on both Saturday and Sunday. Results will be available online at wearecollegetennis.com and live streaming video for select matches will be available at track.tennis.
