WILMINGTON, N.C. – Auburn men’s golf finished ninth at The Williams Cup at Eagle Point Golf Club as the No. 4 Tigers shot 5-over in Tuesday’s final round to finish at 20-over-par for the week.

“Just not good enough this week,” Tigers head coach Nick Clinard said. “We’ve got one more tournament to turn things around and end the fall on a positive note.”

Junior sensation Jackson Koivun finished the tournament at even par. He tied for 10th place. It was his 23rd career top 10. He now stands just three shy of breaking Brendan Valdes’ (2021-25) program record.

Koivun’s scorecards for the event consisted of a 69, 74 and a 73.

Also finishing inside the top 25 were junior Cayden Pope and freshman Jake Albert. The duo finished tied for 22nd at 4-over-par. Pope shot 74, 75, 71 while Albert went 71, 77, 72.

Florida won team honors, running away with a 12-shot victory at 15-under-par. Notre Dame’s Nate Stevens earned low medalist after shooting 70, 67, 72 for a 7-under 209.

Auburn returns to action early next week at The Clerico, set for Oct. 27-28, at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
