AUBURN, Ala. – Junior Brooke Jolstad of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team was named the SEC Horsemanship Rider of the Month for her efforts in January, the league office announced.
The honor is the second of Jolstad’s career and it’s the third of the year in Horsemanship for the Tigers.
Jolstad, of Lakewood, Colorado, helped the top-ranked Tigers pick up a win on the road to start the spring portion of the season, topping UT Martin, 11-8, on January 31. She guided the Horsemanship squad to a 3-1-1 mark in the event and bested her opponent by 7.5 points, scoring a career-high 78 and winning Most Outstanding Performer honors.
The Tigers return to competition this Saturday, Feb. 7, facing No. 6 South Carolina on the road. The two SEC teams will go head-to-head at 10 a.m. CT from Blythewood, South Carolina at One Wood Farm.
