PALM CITY, Fla. — No. 1 Auburn men's golf fired rounds of -20 and -10 Monday in the opening two rounds of the Valspar Collegiate to lead by a pair of strokes heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes at The Floridian. 

No. 10 Texas Tech tightly trails the Tigers at 28-under. Auburn holds a 10-shot buffer on the third-place team, No. 6 Texas, who stands at 20-under. 

All five members of the Auburn lineup went subpar to open the tournament. Juniors Jackson Koivun and Cayden Pope ended the day at 8-under-par total. They sit three back of the individual leader, USC's Jaden Dumdumaya (-11). Freshman Jake Albert is two shots back of the junior duo. He's at 6-under. One back of Albert is sophomore Billy Davis (-5), and one back of Davis is junior Josiah Gilbert (-4).
