AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore guard Elyjah Freeman has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Freeman joined Auburn after spending his first year of college at Division II Lincoln-Memorial. He carries a 3.71 GPA in Interdisciplinary Studies.
On the court, Freeman has been an instant impact transfer. The West Palm Beach, Fla. native has played in all 35 games with 18 starts and is averaging 9.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Freeman leads the team with 43 steals, and his top moment came by scoring the game-winning basket against Kentucky with 1.2 seconds remaining to give the Tigers a 75-74 victory over the Wildcats.
Freeman and the Tigers host Nevada (24-12) in the third round of the NIT on Wednesday at 8 p.m. CT with the winner advancing to the NIT semifinal in Indianapolis.
