Frank Failace joined the Auburn football staff in December 2025. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Football Performance.
Failace arrives in Auburn after spending the last three seasons on head coach Alex Golesh’s staff at USF. He was originally brought on in January 2023 as the Director of Football Sports Performance and was quickly promoted in Septmeber 2023 to Associate Head Coach of Football Strength and Conditioning.
Failace has a hand in the turnaround of the USF program, going from four combined wins from 2020-22 to 23 total wins in the three-year tenure under Golesh, including a 9-3 record in 2025.
Prior to his arrival at USF, Failace served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at East Carolina University from 2019-2022. While his primary area of emphasis was assisting with the Pirates’ football program, he also has athletic performance oversight of ECU track and field (sprinters/hurdlers), along with women’s lacrosse and men’s golf.
Failace has also served as assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) after spending the 2017 and 2018 seasons as an intern with the New York Jets.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Saint Francis (Pa.) University in 2016 after playing four years in the Red Flash’s football program at the FCS level. He followed with a master’s in exercise and sport studies-exercise physiology from William Patterson (N.J.) University in 2018.
Failace is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is also Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) per the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
