Larry Scott III joined the Auburn football staff in December 2025. He currently serves as assistant defensive line coach.
Prior to his arrival on the Plains, Scott spent two seasons with head coach Alex Golesh at USF, serving as a quality control analyst in 2024 before being elevated to assistant outside linebackers coach in 2025. With Scott’s assistance, USF linebackers Mac Harris (first team) and Jhalyn Shuler (second team) earned All-AAC honors.
Scott previously spent time as a member of the defensive staff for West Alabama (2022-23) and served under his father as a defensive quality control coach at Howard (2020-21).
Prior to Howard, he was a graduate assistant coach at North Carolina State and also coached high school football in Dallas, Texas.
Scott played at Miles College where he helped lead the Golden Tiger to a 2015 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Miles in political science in 2017.
