AUBURN - The Auburn cross country team is set to host the Auburn Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 7, at Conway Acres Farm.
Both the men's and women's teams are coming off season opening wins at the Troy Invitational last Friday. This week, each team will be running shorter races with a women's 4K and a men's 6K after having run a 5K and 8K, respectively, in Troy.
Junior Hunter Hayes recorded his first career race win at Troy with a first-place finish in 28:04.68 in the 8k event.
Auburn will feature multiple SEC scorers in the men's and women's races for the first time in 2012 after several of Auburn's key returners rested last weekend in preparation for Friday's meet.
The women's 4K race is set to begin at 4:45 p.m. CT, followed by the men's 6K at 5:30 p.m.
