AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn women's associate head golf coach Andrew Pratt will remain on the Auburn staff, newly hired head coach Melissa Luellen announced Thursday.
"Andrew has played an important role with the program the last two years and I look forward to him helping us achieve our goals of winning championships," Luellen said. "Andrew is very well respected in the coaching community, is a tremendous recruiter and understands what it required to be successful at this level."
Pratt has spent the past two seasons at Auburn helping the program to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances. Pratt was the head coach at Tulane for two seasons, where he led the program to its best season in school history, winning the 2013 Conference USA title and receiving league coach of the year honors. In 2013, the Green Wave posted a school-record ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships and eight Top-5 finishes in 11 tournaments.
"I'm excited and appreciative to work for Coach Luellen and I'm very fortunate for the opportunity to have worked under two Hall of Fame coaches at Auburn," Pratt said. "I came to Auburn while Coach Evans was sick to help with the program and my family and I really love being a part of the Auburn family. It's a great place to work and live."
Prior to his tenure at Tulane, Pratt spent three seasons as an assistant coach with Tennessee, helping the Lady Vols make three consecutive NCAA Championship appearances and four regular season tournament titles.
Pratt's own professional experience includes four years on the Nationwide Tour (2004-07). Additionally, he was the 2004 and 2005 Tennessee State Open Champion, the 2004 Tennessee State Amateur Champion and appeared in the U.S. Amateur Championship (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003) and the 2004 British Amateur Championship.
A native of Bartlett, Tenn., Pratt played at Tennessee from 1999-03, lettering all four years. He competed in the 2000 and 2003 NCAA Championship and earned 2002 All-SEC honors.
Mary Rob Plunkett, who is the director of operations for both the men's and women's golf programs, will also remain on staff in her current role.
