AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn senior Redatu Semeon and junior Marshay Ryan were named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service team, the league announced recently.
A native of Bowie, Md., Semeon has visited Wrights Mill Road Elementary and the Upward Bound group from CACC-Childersburg. He also stuffed backpacks with the Jason Duffner Foundation and attended Auburn's Downtown Trick or Treat event to hand out candy and sign autographs for local youth. Semeon's other civic activities have included donating to Student Athlete Advisory Committee's Beat Bama Food Drive and Toys for Tots Drive.
Along with visiting the Upward Bound group from CACC-Childersburg, Ryan has volunteered with the Tuskegee Youth Track Program and stuffed backpacks with the Jason Duffner Foundation. The Chambersburg, Pa., native has donated to SAAC's Beat Bama Food Drive and Toys for Tots, while also assisting with the East Alabama Food Bank.
The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight a male and female athlete from each school who gives back to his or her community through superior service efforts.
