AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Auburn cross country will open up it's 2016 schedule at the JSU Strut's Opener in Oxford, Ala. tomorrow evening.
On the women's side, the Tigers will return four seniors. Senior Veronica Eder will lead the way for Auburn after a strong 2015-16 season in which she earned cross country All-Region honors with a seventh place finish at the 2015 South Region Championship. Eder also finished seventh in the 10,000m at the 2016 SEC Outdoor Championships.
Auburn will also rely heavily on seniors Rachel Givens and Emily Stevens. Stevens finished 58th at the SEC Cross Country Championships, while Givens finished 31st.
The men will be led by the junior trio of Mitchell Gomez, Kevin Wyss and Wesley Pectol. Gomez finished 29th at the NCAA South Regional and was followed by Wyss who finished 35th.
Pectol finished 15th in the 5000m at the SEC Outdoor Championships with a time of 14:31.44.
