AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn soccer team is set to begin play against a conference opponent as it hosts Vanderbilt on Friday night. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff at the Auburn Soccer Complex and will be broadcasted to a national audience on the SEC Network.

The Tigers (3-3-0) have produced five shutouts all-time in SEC openers and will look to notch their third of 2016 on Friday. Auburn has amassed 50 shutouts since 2010.

Casie Ramsier leads the home team into the conference clash and is just two shots away from moving into second on the program's all-time shot list. At 227 career shot attempts, Casie Ramsier trails Sarah Steinmann (247) and Katy Frierson (228) for the program record.

Four players currently tie for the lead in assists as Kristen Dodson, Bri Folds, Brooke Ramsier and Courtney Schell have each tallied a pair of assists on the season.

History shows that the fixture between Auburn and Vanderbilt (4-2-0) is crucial to the final SEC standings. In 13 decisions, the winner of this match has gone on to finish higher in the standings, including 11 times in the top six since 1993.

The Tigers have battled the Commodores 19 times in series history and maintain a 9-6-4 edge in the series. Auburn carries a nine-match unbeaten streak against Vanderbilt into Friday night's duel, with the last defeat coming in 2005.

The Tigers will look to snap a two-match losing streak on Friday. Auburn has not suffered a three-game setback since 2013 that spans across 53 matches.

After its match with Vanderbilt, Auburn will wrap up its non-conference slate with a home game versus Baylor on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Player to Watch: Bri Folds

Freshman forward Bri Folds has been a creative maestro up top for the Tigers so far this season. She has notched two assists and carries 10 shots into the matchup, including five on frame for .500 shot-on-goal percentage. Folds is also tied for fourth on the team with two points.

Scouting Vanderbilt

The Commodores make the southern swing having won their last three matches, including a pair of shutouts at home. Vanderbilt has played 12 newcomers and its led by Grace Jackson, who has 11 points by way of three goals and five assists. Sasha Gray and Jackie Welch have each netted three to tie for the team lead. The Commodores have used three goalies with Kaitlyn Fahrner leading the way with a 4-1-0 record in the net.

A Win by Auburn Would...

A win by Auburn on Friday night would give the Tigers a 1-0-0 start to SEC play, up the current unbeaten streak against Vanderbilt to 10 consecutive matches and elevate them to their first win of September and first taste of victory since Aug. 28.

On Sept. 9, 2001, Auburn capped a perfect weekend at the Virginia Tournament with a 1-0 victory over No. 6 Virginia, 1-0, and began the season 4-0-0.
