AUBURN, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference's leading rusher and the league's top field goal kicker kept filling up the stat sheet Saturday, and that's why Auburn's Kamryn Pettway and Daniel Carlson were named two of the conference's players of the week Monday.

Pettway was named the top offensive player after rushing for a career-high 236 yards and Carlson was named the top special teams player after kicking four field goals to help Auburn beat Ole Miss 40-29.

Pettway leads the SEC in rushing, and is No. 6 nationally, with 933 yards. He's averaging 156.2 yards in SEC games. Carlson leads the league in field goals with 17.

"If you see Pettway coming at you, it strikes fear into defenders," running mate Kerryon Johnson said after Saturday's win.

"He's a load, and he loves to run the football hard and physical. It's hard for people to tackle him."

Carlson has hit on 17 of his 18 field goal tries this season, and his third field goal against Ole Miss gave Auburn the lead for good. Coach Gus Malzahn has consistently called Carlson the best kicker in the country.

The league's other weekly award winners were South Carolina defensive back Jamarcus King, who was named the defensive player of the week; Kentucky running back Benny Snell, who was named the freshman of the week. Florida's Martez Ivey, who was named the offensive lineman of the week; and Kentucky's Adrian Middleton, who was named the defensive lineman of the week.
