LEXINGTON, Ky. - The No. 11 Auburn gymnastics traveled to No. 9 Kentucky for a Friday night meet and fell to the Wildcats, 197.100-195.800, in Memorial Coliseum.

"We had some bright spots tonight and started and finished well," head coach Jeff Graba said. "We have to continue being patient because this is a young team with a lot of new routines. Getting on the road is extremely important being in a tough environment like this. We'll continue to get better as the season goes along and we have to be ready for next weekend."

The Tigers (0-3, 0-2 SEC) kicked things off on bars and tied a season-best score with a 49.125. Freshman Gracie Day set a career best in the event with a 9.85, while sophomore Emma Engler tied a season high with another 9.85. Redshirt senior Kelsey Kopec and sophomore Samantha Cerio followed with a pair of season highs, scoring a 9.825 and 9.8, respectively. Junior Abby Milliet anchored the event with a 9.8.

Auburn closed out the meet on beam and picked up another season-high score, finishing with a 48.95. Milliet led the way with a 9.875, setting a new season best. Cerio picked up another season-high score of the evening and earned a 9.8. Redshirt freshman Emma Slappey and freshman Katie Becker each picked up a 9.775, while senior Kullen Hlawek and Engler chipped in a pair of 9.725s.

The second rotation had the Tigers on vault and the youthful squad came away with a 48.8. Day led the way once again and earned a 9.825. Senior MJ Rott anchored the rotation for Auburn and was awarded a 9.8, while sophomore Taylor Krippner followed with a 9.775. Sophomore Telah Black and Becker added 9.7s apiece.

The floor squad totaled a 48.925 in the third rotation and Cerio led the way with a career best 9.85. Slappey picked up the team's second-best score in the event with a 9.825, while senior Lucia Scaglione's 9.8 tied a career high. Rott and Hlawek added a 9.725 and a 9.7 for the Tigers.

Auburn continues its road swing, traveling to No. 3 Florida Friday, Jan. 27. The SEC Network will broadcast the meet. Following their tilt with the Gators, the Tigers will then head to Birmingham for the annual Elevate the Stage meet, facing No. 4 Alabama in a non-conference meet, Jan. 29.
