Jan. 26, 2017 Schedule
AUBURN, Ala. - Fresh off the deepest postseason run in program history, the Auburn soccer team announced its spring exhibition schedule Thursday.
Head coach Karen Hoppa and the Tigers have five matches on its annual spring slate, including two matches at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
Auburn is set to take on four SEC opponents in total with the opener set for March 4 against Mississippi State at home. The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs in the 2016 regular season 3-0 behind goals from Kristen Dodson, Ellie Leek and Brooke Ramsier.
Auburn then heads to Birmingham for a battle with in-state foe Samford March 9. The last time the two teams met was at the same location when the Tigers netted four goals from the trio of Casie Ramsier, Dodson and Leek to take a tight 4-3 victory back in August.
Next on the schedule, Auburn hosts its final exhibition of the spring when it welcomes LSU March 25. Casie Ramsier scored a goal in the final minute of play when the two Tiger opponents faced off in the 2016 campaign to send Auburn to victory and a crucial three points in the SEC standings.
Two road matches close out the schedule as the Tigers travel to Atlanta, Ga. and Oxford, Miss. for matches against Georgia (April 1) and Ole Miss (April 22), respectively.
Auburn took down Georgia 4-2 in the regular season behind a six-point performance Dodson. The Tigers did not face Ole Miss in 2016.
Auburn is coming off its most successful season in program history after winning a record 17 matches en route to the team's first ever NCAA Quarterfinals appearance.
