ORLANDO, Fla. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Auburn women's golf freshman Elena Hualde shot a 5-under-par 67 Monday to lead the Tigers in the second round of the UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Hualde moved up to fourth place in the field at 6-under for the tournament, three shots out of third and seven strokes back of the tournament leader. She carded seven birdies against just one double-bogey to post her best collegiate round and the second-best by an Auburn player this year.

Starting on the fifth hole, Hualde opened with five straight pars, got to 1-under with birdie at 10 then gave it back with double-bogey at the 11th. From there, though, she birdied six of her final 11 holes with no bogeys to finish off her third round in the 60s this season.

Sophomore Melanie Talbott posted her second-straight round of 73 (+1) that included three birdies. Junior Michaela Owen and senior Clara Baena recorded scores of 76 (+4) for Auburn's other two counting scores, and junior Kelli Murphy and sophomore Mai Dechathipat each finished with a 77 (+5).

As a team, Auburn shot 292 (+4) to drop back to even par through two rounds and a tie for 11th place. Mississippi State leads the tournament at 16-under after a round of 275 (-13) today. Miami is second at 9-under, followed by tournament host UCF at 8-under. MSU's Chieh Jessica Peng tops the individual leaderboard at 13-under after a 65 today.

The final round of the UCF Challenge gets underway with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start Tuesday. Auburn will be paired with Old Dominion and Wisconsin for the final 18 holes. Live scoring is available at golfstatresults.com.
