AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Senior Ashley Foster of the No. 4 Auburn equestrian team put together solid performances in February and was named SEC Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month for her efforts, the league office announced Wednesday.
The honor is Foster's first of the year and second in her career in the event.
Foster, of Brookeville, Md., went undefeated in Fences for the Tigers during the month, picking up three wins with two coming against SEC opponents. She opened February with a 78-65 victory vs. SEC rival Georgia (Feb. 11) to help AU go 3-2 against the Bulldogs in the event.
Highlighting her month was her back-to-back MOP rides against UT Martin (Feb. 18) and at South Carolina (Feb. 25). Foster earned 84 points for her performance vs. the Skyhawks and secured the MOP nod on Senior Day. The Tigers then headed to USC where she tied a career-high score with 90 points in her win, picking up her second MOP of the month and third of the season.
Overall, Foster leads Auburn in the event with a 9-1-0 record and has a team-best 15 wins overall on the year.
The Tigers will close out their regular season traveling to No. 2 Baylor (March 3) and No. 1 Texas A&M (March 4). Auburn will host the 2017 SEC Equestrian Championship, March 24-25, at the Auburn University Horse Center.
