March 14, 2017 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Senior infielder Haley Fagan has been named the SEC Player of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday. She is the first Auburn player to be tabbed for the weekly honor this season.
Fagan hit .556 in four games last week and had three hits, including two doubles, in a series win against No. 12 LSU during the weekend.
The Dunnellon, Fla. native reached base in 10 of 14 plate appearances and successfully advanced runners at an .800 clip.
Fagan was lethal at the plate, hitting .714 with runners in scoring position and .625 with runners on base during the four-game week.
The senior extended her career-best hitting streak to 20 consecutive games and takes a 23-game on-base streak into the next contest.
Fagan and the Tigers return to the diamond Wednesday afternoon against Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
