WACO, Texas -- It all came down to the wire for the No. 4 Auburn equestrian team at No. 1 Baylor and the two teams rode to a 9-9 tie. The Tigers, however, took the victory after topping the Bears in raw score, 1495-1481, Friday afternoon in Waco.

"The team rode great today," head coach Greg Williams said. "I thought more of the tight scores would fall our way, but the team got enough for the win. It feels good to have everyone on the upswing and pulling together heading into the postseason."

Auburn improved to 6-3 on the year and the win gave the Tiger team its second victory over a top-ranked squad this year. The last came at home vs. then-No. 1 Texas A&M with the two squads riding to a

The Tigers exceled in Equitation Over Fences, topping the Bears by a score of 4-1. Sophomore Caitlin Boyle was awarded her third MOP honor of the season in the event, scoring a season-best 90 points in her win. Sophomore Alex Ladove remained undefeated in Fences and opened up the day with an 82-80 victory over Savannah Jenkins. Senior Ashley Foster picked up her 10th W in the event with her 83 points and sophomore Hayley Iannotti finished with an 81-76 win.

Freshman Kara Kaufmann and sophomore Megan Rauh gave Auburn two points in Horsemanship during the first half of the day. Kaufmann's 76-72.5 victory moved the Belvidere, N.J., product to 9-0-1 in the event and her points total tied a season best. Rauh closed out the discipline with a 75-71.5 win over Kelsie Holman.

Auburn went into intermission leading Baylor, 6-4.

The Reining corps saw big rides from junior Alexa Rivard and sophomore Betsy Brown. Rivard, of Suwanee, Ga., earned her first MOP nod of the season with a 72.5-65.5 win. Brown picked up her second-straight victory, topping Maddison Smith, 67.5-57.5

Iannotti gave Auburn a point in Equitation on the Flat, edging Jenkins with a score of 72-71. Sophomore Ashton Alexander tied Rachel Van Allen, 79-79, while senior Tory Hoft picked up a tie vs. Alicia Gasser (80-80).

Auburn's busy weekend continues Saturday, March 4, as the Tigers take on SEC Rival and No. 2 Texas A&M at 11 a.m. CT in College Station.
