ROCKY FACE, Ga. - Junior Trace Crowe continues to lead the No. 13 Auburn men's golf team after the Carpet Capital Collegiate second round at The Farm Golf Club on Saturday. The Tigers are five shots off the lead at 1-under in a tie for fifth while Crowe is tied for third at 7-under.
Auburn fired a 2-under second round 286 behind Crowe's 4-under 68. Nine teams are within seven shots of the lead.
No. 10 Florida leads at 6-under ahead of No. 18 Georgia Tech (-5), No. 19 Alabama (-5), Tennessee (-4), No. 13 Auburn (-1), No. 7 LSU (-1), North Florida (E), No. 17 Clemson (+1) and California (+1).
South Carolina (+6) is in 10th followed by Dalton State (+12), Kennesaw State (+15), No. 15 Virginia (+24), Chattanooga (+28) and Troy (+34).
Crowe followed his opening round 69 with six birdies, including three of the first four holes. The Bluffton, S.C., native also birdied Nos. 9, 12 and 15. He is three shots behind Florida's Alejandro Tosti, who is 10-under, while Tennessee's Lorenzo Scalise is in second at 8-under.
Sophomore Jovan Rebula is tied for 27th at 1-over after a 73, junior Jacob Solomon is tied for 35th with freshman Wells Padgett at 4-over. Solomon had an even par 72 with four birdies while Padgett had a 76.
Freshman Andrew Kozan, who is playing as an individual, is tied for 43rd at 5-over with an even par 72 with seven birdies. Freshman Brandon Mancheno is tied for 54th at 7-over after a second round 73 with five birdies.
