AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Senior Alexa Rivard was named the Southeastern Conference Reining Rider of the Month for March, the league office announced Wednesday.
Rivard, of Suwanee, Ga., picked up a pair of victories at home to close out the 2017-18 regular season. She opened with a 73-69.5 victory in the team's 14-3 win over then-No. 5 SMU, March 3. The point total tied a season best and awarded her MOP honors in the event.
On Senior Day, Rivard edged her opponent with a 72.5-71 victory, helping the Tigers defeat Fresno State, 15-2. She was honored as MOP once again for her efforts.
With the two victories, Rivard improved to 7-3-2 overall.
Auburn is set to compete at the 2018 SEC Championship, March 30-31, in Blythewood, S.C., and hosted by South Carolina. The No. 2 seed Tigers will face No. 3 seed Texas A&M and the winner will face the winner of No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 4 South Carolina.
