FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The No. 17 Auburn women's golf team remains in fourth place at 6-over par after playing the second round and part of the third Saturday before play was suspended at the Mason Rudolph Championship due to inclement weather. 
 
As a team, the Tigers shot 299 (+11) on the first eighteen holes Saturday but bounced back in round three where they are currently 1-under par with all but one player through the first 12 holes at the Vanderbilt Legends Club – North Course.
 
In the second round, Auburn was led by junior Elena Hualde Zúñiga and sophomore Kaleigh Telfer, who both shot 73 (+1). Telfer finished strong with three birdies on the final four holes and had a team-high four birdies on the day.
 
Like Telfer, Julie McCarthy also finished strong in round two with three birdies on the final four holes. The sophomore, who made an eagle the first round and shot a team-low score of 69 on Friday, finished with a 75 (+3) in the second round.
 
Through the first two rounds, Telfer (-1), McCarthy (E) and Zúñiga (E) were all ranked among the top 22 on the overall individual player leaderboard.
 
Junior Kayley Marschke and sophomore Mychael O'Berry finished their second rounds at 6-over (78) and 7-over (79), respectively, to round out the Auburn contingent. Marschke birdied three holes, and O'Berry also added a birdie on the Par-4 second hole.
 
Vanderbilt leads the field at 17-under par (559), followed by Arizona State (571), Wake Forest (573), Auburn (284), Clemson (583), LSU (585), Louisville (588), North Carolina (588), Mercer (589), Houston (595), Michigan State (596), Middle Tennessee (596), Missouri (597), Chattanooga (599) and Charlotte (601).
 
Teams are hoping to finish their third round beginning at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday morning.
