GREENVILLE, N.C. – Sophomore right-hander Cody Greenhill has been named to the 2019 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award watch list, the publication announced Monday.
Greenhill is one of 12 pitchers from the Southeastern Conference named to the list, marking the most of any conference in the country. The complete list can be found here.
A native of Russellville, Alabama, Greenhill was one of four Freshman All-Americans and SEC All-Freshman Team honorees for the Tigers a season ago. The team's four Freshman All-American led the country in 2018.
In 21 relief appearances, Greenhill posted a 6-3 record with a team-best 2.30 ERA and recorded five saves. He earned a quartet of pivotal wins, including a regular-season win at No. 1 Florida, SEC Tournament win vs. Kentucky, Raleigh Regional championship win at N.C. State and the first NCAA Super Regional win in program history at Florida.
