AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn track and field program will open the 2019 outdoor season on Friday at the Florida State Relays in Tallahassee, Fla. The one-day meet will get underway at 8:30 a.m. CT with the men's and women's hammer throw, while running events will begin on the track at 12:40 p.m. CT.

"It's going to be a good track meet and give us a chance to kind of see right off the get-go where we are," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "You want to see where you are, don't try to get too excited. Just see where we are and get the ball rolling. This will be the first opportunity for our entire team to compete as we have several javelin, discus and hammer throwers that obviously didn't get to compete indoors."

Auburn will have 45 athletes competing, including 26 women and 19 men. Six athletes competing in outdoor exclusive field events will be making their 2019 debuts. Those competing for the first time in 2019 include Cade Antonucci and John Putnam on the men's side and Ashley Carter, Kylee Carter, Peyton Montgomery and Ivana Muzaric on the women's side.
