AUBURN, Ala. – The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee approved a change of venue for the 2019 Auburn Regional on Friday. The event, held May 6-8, 2019, will move from the Auburn University Club to the nearby Saugahatchee Country Club.
"This has been a difficult decision to change the golf course," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "Auburn University Club is our home, and our student-athletes absolutely love playing their championship golf course. However, massive amounts of rainfall have created many challenges and adversely affected the conditions needed for tournament play. We look forward to returning to the Auburn University Club for our future events."
In addition to the NCAA Regional, this year's Evans Derby Experience will also move to Saugahatchee Country Club. The tournament will still take place later this month, March 23-25, 2019, and features an impressive field of 14 teams from across the country.
"All involved are very appreciative that Saugahatchee Country Club is available during this time and are thankful for their willingness to host on short notice," added Luellen.
