Knoxville, Tenn.—Auburn junior Kylee Carter continued her winning ways during the outdoor season, capturing the women's javelin throw at the Tennessee Relays Friday at Tom Black Track on the University of Tennessee campus.
Carter led wire-to-wire through all six throws with a winning toss of 53.57m/175-9 for her fourth consecutive win in the event during the 2019 outdoor season. Carter's previous wins came at the Florida State Relays, Ole Miss Classic and the Tiger Track Classic.
Teammate Peyton Montgomery finished third overall, and second among collegiate competitors with a mark of 50.94m/167-1 while Ashley Carter was fifth overall with a toss of 44.98m/147-7.
Freshman indoor All-American Madi Malone won silver in the hammer throw with a best of 62.59m/205-4.
Senior Skyler Daniel was second in the women's high jump, clearing 1.73m/5-8, while teammate Caroline Lawrence was third after also clearing 1.73m.
Natosha Jordan made history with a personal-best heptathlon score of 5,111 points to finish sixth in the event. Jordan's score was the highest point total in the event by an Auburn woman in 19 years and was the No. 6 performance in school history.
On the men's side Thursday evening was a strong outing for sophomore Cade Antonucci posting the second-best javelin mark in school history with a heave of 71.25m/233-9. It was not only a PR for Antonucci, but the No. 11 mark nationally in 2019.
Freshman Anthony Schwartz was fifth overall and the fourth place collegiate finisher in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.28. Myra Mack posted a fifth-place showing in the women's 200m, crossing in 24.07.
Saturday's final day of competition will begin at 10 a.m. CT in the field and noon on the track.
