GREENVILLE, N.C. – Sophomore reliever Cody Greenhill has been named to the Stopper of the Year midseason watch list, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced Wednesday.
Greenhill is one of 45 relievers named to the midseason watch list, including seven from the Southeastern Conference.
The Russellville, Alabama, native leads the team and ranks tied for third in the conference with nine saves, which are the most by an Auburn player since 2013 and are also good for the 15th most in the country.
Five of Greenhill's nine saves have come on the road, including four in SEC road games, and he leads the conference with seven saves in league games.
Greenhill is 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA and has recorded five saves in his last seven appearances.
He and the No. 21 Tigers (27-14, 10-8 SEC) continue conference play with a three-game series No. 4 Vanderbilt (31-9, 12-6 SEC) beginning Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
