AUBURN, Ala. – Edouard Julien has been named to the 2019 Canadian National Team roster and will compete in the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru, from Friday, July 26 through Sunday, Aug. 11.
Julien is one of 24 players named to the Canadian National Team, including one of just three collegiate athletes. It marks the second time Julien has represented his country, having also been a member of the Canadian Junior National Team in 2016.
Baseball at the Pan Am Games is scheduled to be played from Monday, July 29 through Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Villa Maria del Triunfo Sports Center.
Julien recently completed his sophomore season at Auburn and has elected to return to The Plains for his junior season after being drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 18th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
The Quebec City native led the Tigers in home runs (10) and RBI (57) for the second straight season and has totaled 27 home runs and 126 RBI in his two years with the program. He not only led the SEC and freshmen nationally with 69 RBI in 2018, but also broke Frank Thomas' freshman RBI record that had stood since 1987.
Earlier this year, Julien tallied his 100th career RBI in his 94th career game, becoming the fifth fastest Auburn player to reach 100 career RBI behind Tim Hudson (78 games), Gabe Gross (86 games), Thomas (89 games) and Todd Faulkner (90 games).
