AUBURN, Ala. – Two Auburn women's tennis players are headed to Florida this weekend to compete in the Lakewood Ranch Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic.

Senior Georgie Axon and junior Madeline Meredith will play in the three-day clay court event that runs Friday-Sunday in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. It will be the only clay court competition of the year.

Meredith and Axon will both play singles and then play together in doubles. Singles play gets underway at 9 a.m. CT Friday. Players from Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Appalachian State, South Florida, Boston College, Florida, Central Florida, Virginia Tech and Michigan are scheduled to compete.
