AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's tennis team will wrap up the fall season this week with players at events on opposite sides of the country.
Senior Taylor Russo and freshman Selin Ovunc will compete in the ITA Fall National Championships, which begin Wednesday in Newport Beach, Calif. The Auburn duo earned their way into the doubles draw by winning the ITA Southern Regional Championship last month in Baton Rouge, La.
In addition, Ovunc earned a berth into the singles main draw as an alternate. She enters the final week of the fall season with a 9-3 singles record, including a tournament title at the season-opening Marliss Gruver Invite and four wins at the ITA Regional.
Elsewhere, sophomore Yu Chen and junior Lindsay Song will compete at the FSU All-Conference Showdown, which begins Friday in Tallahassee, Fla. Chen boasts an 11-1 singles record this season, and Chen and Song are 2-1 when playing doubles together so far this year.
Draws for both events will be available in the coming days. Results for the ITA Fall National Championships will be available at ITATennis.com.
