AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team enters the week at No. 18 per RoadtoNational.com. The weekly rankings are based on the team's average in overall score over the last four meets.
Auburn takes to the road this week for a special Sunday meet, facing No. 13 Georgia in Stegeman Coliseum. The two teams will compete at 3 p.m. CT in Athens, Ga., and the meet will be televised on ESPN.
"We're still early in the year so the ranking is very unpredictable right now," head coach Jeff Graba said. "I'm excited with where we are at because that means we can climb quickly if we hit some good scores. Now our job is to go on the road and hit."
This week's top five has Oklahoma (No. 1) and Florida (No. 2) separated by less than .300, while UCLA, Utah and Denver round out the last three spots.
The Tigers are still in the Top 10 on beam, holding on to ninth with a 49.096 average. The squad jumped five spots on vault to 19th (48.963) after setting a season-best score of 49.275 vs. Missouri last week. Auburn moved up to 18th on bars (48.994) and stands at 23rd on floor (48.969).
