AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's golf team finalized their 2020 fall schedule Wednesday and following the new start dates and formats established by the Southeastern Conference, the Tigers will compete in three tournaments over the next two months.
"We're so blessed to be in the SEC where the No. 1 priority is the health and safety of our student-athletes," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "The extreme measures that Auburn is going through to keep our student-athletes safe has been nothing short of remarkable. I'm just so appreciative of our conference and our administration to make this possible for them.
"Golf is technically a spring sport but understanding that everything we do in the fall counts for the spring. So even though not all the other teams are playing around the country, it's still going to count for us, and I think that's a really good thing."
Auburn will open its 2020 campaign at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, Oct. 5-7. The tournament is a mixed event that features all 14 of the SEC's men's and women's teams and will be broadcast live on Golf Channel each day. It will be played at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas – the same course where the Tigers advanced to the semifinals at the NCAA Championships in 2018.
Two weeks later, Auburn will travel to West Point, Mississippi where the team will compete in The Ally at Old Waverly. The 54-hole event runs from Oct. 19-21 at the Old Waverly Golf Club and is once again expected to include all 14 SEC teams along with Southern Miss.
The Tigers will close out the fall slate at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, Nov. 6-8. Hosted by Georgia, the tournament will be held at the UGA Golf Course in Athens.
