AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn (1-0-1) is set to take on No. 12 Georgia (2-0-2) in its first road contest of the 2020 season Sunday. Kickoff in Athens, Georgia, is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on SEC Network.
STARTING XI
Auburn enters Sunday's contest coming off a double overtime win against Ole Miss Tuesday. Following a 25-day hiatus, the Tigers scored a golden goal with three seconds left on the clock to secure its first win of the 2020 season.
The Tigers trail Georgia 9-11-3 in the series dating back to 1995. However, Auburn is 5-4-1 against the Bulldogs in Athens and has won four consecutive road matchups against Georgia dating back to 2008.
Auburn has earned a result in five of the last six (3-1-2) and eight of the last 10 (6-2-2) meetings with the Bulldogs.
The Tigers dramatic game-winner 109:57 into the contest against Ole Miss was the latest goal scored in program history. The previous record was 109:28 into a game against Alabama in 2012.
Freshman goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska turned in the first shutout of her Auburn career against the Rebels. The 17-year-old freshman hasn't allowed a goal in the run of play in 219:57 to start her collegiate career.
Prohaska leads the league with a .909 save percentage and 0.41 goals against average, while the Tigers and Bulldogs rank first and second, respectively, in the SEC in the latter category.
Auburn and Georgia are the only two remaining unbeaten teams in the SEC this season.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Freshman midfielder Anna Haddock played the corner kick that resulted in the game-winning goal against Ole Miss Tuesday. Haddock, a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, has started in the midfield in both contests to begin the season and is one of three players to have played in all 219:57 of action.
SCOUTING GEORGIA
Georgia enters the weekend with a 2-0-2 overall record and 2-0-0 mark at home with wins against No. 15 South Carolina and Tennessee.
Junior goalkeeper Emory Wegener leads the lead with two shutouts this season and ranks second behind Prohaska in save percentage (.905) and goals against average (0.45).
Junior midfielder Abby Boyan leads the Bulldogs attack with a pair of game-winning goal this season.
