VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – The Auburn men's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon. The Tigers shot a 7-under 273 in their first circuit of the par-70 Old Overton Club.

Auburn is eight shots back of Georgia (265) and just three strokes behind Vanderbilt (270).

Graysen Huff led the way for the Tigers with a 5-under 65, good for third overall. The senior had a team-best six birdies to go along with 12 pars in his first round of the season.

Wells Padgett and Jovan Rebula are tied for 18th on the individual leaderboard after each firing a 1-under 69. The senior duo combined for seven birdies, including five on the front nine, and 24 pars.

Alex Vogelsong is tied for 29th after turning in an even-par card (70). The sophomore fended off five bogeys with five birdies - all on the front nine - and nine pars.

J.M. Butler rounded out the lineup and is tied for 48th at 2-over (72).

Auburn is paired with Georgia and Vanderbilt for the second round of the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, beginning Monday at 10:40 a.m. CT off the No. 1 tee. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
