Tigers surge to top of Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate leaderboard

AWENDAW, S.C. – After beginning the day in third, the Auburn men's golf team fired an 8-under 280 to move into a tie for team lead with NC State after the second round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Monday afternoon.

The Tigers (283-280--563) and Wolfpack (287-276--563) share the lead at 13-under following 36 holes at the par-72 Bulls Bay Golf Club.

Andrew Kozan leads the field by two strokes and sits at 8-under (68-68--136). The senior shook off two bogeys with four birdies and an eagle on the par-4 16th hole to match his first round card.

Alex Vogelsong is part of a group of three that is two shots behind Kozan at 2-under (70-68--138). The sophomore racked up six birdies evenly split between the front and back nine and added 11 pars in his second round.

J.M. Butler currently stands in an 11-way tie for 17th at 1-under (72-71--143). The freshman chipped in four birdies and 12 pars Monday afternoon.

C.J. Easley and Graysen Huff are tied for 40th at 2-over. Easley (73-73--146) had four birdies on the day, while Huff (73-73--146) had 13 pars.

Rounding out the lineup, Wells Padgett is tied for 47th at 3-over (74-73--147). The senior had a team-best 14 pars in his second circuit.

Auburn is paired with Missouri and NC State for the final round of the annual tournament Tuesday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT on the No. 1 tee box. Live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com.
