Tad Maclean and Finn Murgett

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has released its preseason rankings and Auburn has three players among the nation's best.

The 2021 NCAA doubles finalists Finn Murgett and Tad Maclean return for another season and are No. 7 in the preseason doubles rankings.

All-SEC performer Tyler Stice, an NCAA singles qualifier last spring, is No. 19 in the preseason singles rankings.

Those three have also earned spots in the ITA All-American Championships to be held in Tulsa, Okla., in October. Murgett and Maclean are one of 20 teams advanced to the doubles main draw; that play begins October 6. Murgett and Maclean each earned a place in the qualifying round for singles, with play beginning October 4. Stice is one of 45 competitors invited to the singles main draw, and will begin play October 6.

Auburn begins its fall campaign this Friday through Sunday in the Battle of the Beaches tournament at the Tops'l Beach and Racquet Resort in Miramar, Fla. Florida State, Oklahoma and South Florida are the other teams in the men's tournament.
