Former Auburn defensive linemen Angelo Blackson and Derrick Brown both sacked the quarterback Sunday. Blackson also made a tackle in the end zone for a safety.
That and more in this week's Auburn in the NFL rundown.
BEST OF WEEK 17
Angelo Blackson, DL, Chicago Bears
The Bears' defense was dominant in Sunday's 29-3 victory over the New York Giants, and Blackson more than did his part. The seventh-year veteran sacked quarterback Mike Glennon in the first quarter and then made another tackle for loss late in the first half, taking down the running back in the end zone for a safety. It was the first safety by the Bears this season. Through 16 games, Blackson has nearly doubled his career high for tackles in a season with 42, and he also has two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Derrick Brown, DT, Carolina Panthers
Brown had two tackles for loss and a sack Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, but his most impressive play might have come when he chased down Alvin Kamara and made the tackle 25 yards down the field. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Brown is up to 40 tackles this season, a season high, and he also has eight tackles for loss and three sacks.

Daniel Carlson, PK, Las Vegas Raiders
Carlson proved clutch yet again Sunday, kicking the game-winning field goal from 33 yards out as time expired to beat the Indianapolis Colts, 23-20. It's the fourth game-winning kick Carlson has made this season. The fourth-year kicker was a perfect 5 of 5 on the day, including three field goals of 47, 44 and 33 yards. He's now tied for most field goals made this season with 35 and is fifth in the NFL in field-goal percentage at 92.1 percent. Carlson was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time this year.

Carlton Davis, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It was another day at of the office for Davis on Sunday as he finished with eight tackles, one tackle for loss and a pass break-up at the end of the first half that forced the New York Jets to attempt a long field goal. Davis celebrated his New Year's Eve birthday in style with his teammates after the Bucs completed a 14-point second-half comeback to beat the Jets. In nine games this season, Davis has 37 tackles and 10 pass break-ups.
