KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On the board and moving forward. For the first time in three years, the Auburn women secured points and All-American honors via a stellar performance in the 800 free relay.
 
The 2023 NCAA Women's Swim and Dive Championships kicked off with the 200 medley relay. Meghan Lee, Anastasia Makarova, Claudia Thamm and Lexie Mulvihill combined for a 1:37.00 for 19th place.
 
Polina Nevmovenko, Hannah Ownbey, Emily Hetzer and Daisy Platts got the nod in the 800 free relay. The quartet hit the wall at 7:04.82 for 16th place, earning All-American honorable mention honors in the process.
 
It was the first time the Auburn women have jumped on the scoreboard since 2019.
 
UP NEXT
Thursday brings the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free as well as the 200 free relay. Prelims are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT and finals are slated for 5 p.m. CT. ESPN+ will have full coverage of the championships.
